Eulàlia Subirá was born in Barcelona in 1968. She studied cello with Peter Thiemann and María de Macedo in Barcelona and Madrid. From 1991 she decided to specialise in cello pedagogy with Ann Grave, Carey Beth Hockett and Penny Heath in Lyon and London, obtaining her Suzuki Teacher Level 5 certification. Since 1992, Eulàlia has been working as a cello teacher at the Escuela Municipal de Música de Manlleu (Barcelona), where she teaches students from the age of 4. She also specialises in teaching students with disabilities.
In 1998, Eulàlia founded the "Grup de Violoncels de Manlleu" made up of students from 8 to 14 years old, with whom she has given pedagogical concerts in different cities in Catalonia, Spain and England. Eulàlia has given cello courses (for young musicians) in a plethora of countries, including Spain, France, Belgium, England, Palestine, Lithuania, Portugal, Switzerland and Denmark. She has organised seventeen cello courses, the most important being the "VicCelloFestival.cat" (February 2014).
Eulàlia is a certified Suzuki Teacher Trainer since July 2017.


EULÀLIA SUBIRÀ

Carey Beth Hockett is a cellist and composer from the USA. Renowned for her creative work with ensembles of all sizes, she has trained hundreds of teachers around the world in group teaching techniques. With experience as a certified teacher trainer with both the Suzuki Association of the Americas (SAA) and the European Suzuki Association (ESA), Carey has served on the boards of both organizations and is currently a board member of the International Suzuki Association.
After graduating, majoring in performance at the Eastman School, Carey joined Ithaca Talent Education and became a founding member of the Cayuga Chamber Orchestra. She later moved to England, where she joined the London Suzuki Group and served as Director of Cello Training for the British Suzuki Institute, as well as the Finnish and Dutch Suzuki Associations.
Most recently, Carey has been on the faculty of the Colburn School in Los Angeles, where he has directed the Jumpstart String program, the Cello Choir, and the Cello Ensemble, as well as teaching in the Suzuki department.
Her compositions include Amusements for String Quartet, a collection of short pieces designed to train basic ensemble playing skills, and Diversions for Cello Ensemble, a series of pieces that include elements of body percussion and cello percussion along with regular performance. He has received commissions from the Fairbanks Suzuki Institute, Etobicoke Suzuki Music and the Rocky Mountain Cello Fest, the Western Springs School of Talent Education, and the Aarhus Cello Expo in Denmark.
CAREY BETH HOCKETT
VIOLONCELLO


She obtained a Higher Degree from the Aragon Higher Conservatory of Music, studying with D. Apellániz and A. L. Quintana, as well as with the Casals Quartet in the chamber music specialty. She later extended her studies at the School of Advanced Musical Studies of Santiago de Compostela, where she received lessons from Bárbara Switlaska. Throughout her training she has received classes from M. de Macedo, A. Polo, D. Martínez, C. Pestalozzi, D. Ethève, A. Mata, and J. Marie Gamard. In the field of Baroque violoncello, she has taken courses with V. de Hoog, L. Luckert, O. Centurioni, and Itziar Atutxa.
She has been a member of JORVAL, the “Concerto-München” Orchestra, JONDE, and the Galician Symphony Youth Orchestra, with which she worked under the direction of J. Pons, A. Zedda, J. Ross, M. Gilbert, J. Mora, P. Rizzo, V. Pablo Pérez, and M. Zumalave. She has collaborated with the Galician Symphony Orchestra, the Royal Philharmonic of Galicia, and the Valencia Orchestra.
In the field of teaching, she received Suzuki Method training from Arantza López, Rubén Rivera, and Chantal Latil, completing this training in 2013. As a Suzuki teacher she has worked in different schools and currently in her own project, VOLUTA Escola de Música. She also teaches courses at KORTJAKE School (Belgium), Anne Van Laar Cello School (Netherlands), CELLOFEST Summercamp, and various schools in Poland, as well as in different editions of the Spanish National Suzuki Course. Since 2019 she has been an Instructor and since 2024 a Teacher Trainer with the European Suzuki Association.
She is a founding member of the early music group “Música Trobada,” with which she has made recordings of three albums and numerous concerts at different festivals. Since October 2016 she has held, on an interim basis, the Chair of Baroque Violoncello in the Early Music Department at the Salvador Seguí Higher Conservatory of Music of Castellón.

Alfredo Guerrero is a Spanish cellist and pedagogue, whose life has been deeply marked by music since his childhood in Zaragoza. He began his cello studies with Aleksander Czaykowsky, driven by his parents' enthusiasm. At the age of 14, his talent led him to the Escuela de Música Reina Sofía to study with Frans Helmerson and Ángel Luis Quintana, and he later completed his training in Germany, at the Hochschule für Musik Detmold, with Karine Georgian.
His career as a performer has linked him with prestigious orchestras and groups, such as the Orquesta de Radio Televisión Española, the Orquesta Nacional de España, Grupo Enigma, and the Sinfónica Ciudad de Zaragoza, also standing out as a soloist and in chamber music.
In parallel to his performing career, Alfredo has shown a strong commitment to teaching the cello, especially through the Suzuki Method, which he learned under the tutelage of Arantza López and Eulàlia Subirà.
Since 2006, he has been a tenured professor and has worked both at the Conservatorio "Miguel Fleta" in Monzón and, since 2017, at the Conservatorio de Zaragoza, where he teaches young cellists. His pedagogical approach seeks to transmit to his students the love and dedication for music that has guided his own life.
ALFREDO GUERRERO
VIOLONCELLO | MASTERCLASS
Jon Cottle is a cellist, improviser, and teacher who lives and works in Barcelona. He studied at Leeds University before receiving a scholarship to study at the Royal Academy of Music in London. During his studies, he developed a keen interest in using the cello to play more modern styles of music, as well as using modern technologies to enhance the natural sound of the cello.
As a musician in London, he played with the Heritage Orchestra, as well as maintaining a busy concert and recording schedule, playing in his own ensembles, and touring Europe, North America, and Japan with the American band Clare & the Reasons and musician Van Dyke Parks. After moving to Barcelona in 2011, he has continued to seek out interesting musicians, currently playing with The Pinkertones, Nubla, Cordes del Mon, Caracara, and the free improvisation group Baktun Ensemble.
Throughout his career, Jon has been an active teacher of the Suzuki Method, both in London and Barcelona. He has taught a variety of courses, including the LSG Summer School in Bryanston and the National Suzuki Workshop in Spain. He also increasingly teaches improvisation and modern music and has been invited to teach at the Barcelona Violin Congress, the Bellaterra Violin Camp, the Avinyó Summer Jazz Course, and the Dale Cuerda Masterclasses.


JON COTTLE
VIOLONCELLO | IMPROVISATION


Born in Ávila in 1986, she has experienced music from early childhood. She began her musical training at the age of four and has developed a career connected to the violin, viola, musicology, education, research, and cultural projects.
She has taken part in various cultural initiatives as a musicologist at the Tomás Luis de Victoria Center for Studies and its International Music Festival “Abvlensis”; as a performer and coordinator with the Ávila Symphony Orchestra; and as a teacher of violin, viola, music and movement, musical language, instrumental ensemble, analysis, and harmony in different educational centers and music schools.
She has also taught in the Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood and Primary Education at the University of Salamanca, an experience that continues to contribute to her personal and professional growth.
Specialized in Early Childhood Music Education, she strongly advocates for the importance of music from birth, and even before. Her training and practice have been enriched through Musica in culla, the MaMi Project, IGEME, and the Orff Association of Spain. She is currently a Serclet project ambassador, through which she continues bringing music closer to families with a coherent and experiential methodological approach.
She is the creator of the project Vínculo. Música desde bebé, an initiative aimed at sharing her sound and educational experience, with the goal of promoting music as a fundamental right from early childhood.
SILVIA GALÁN
MUSIC LABORATORY
Graduate in Dramatic Art from the Institut del Teatre of Barcelona in the field of Physical Theatre, with extended training in Puppetry and Object Performance.
She is a founding member of the Mallorcan company Disset Teatre, a company that works with visual theatre and the poetics of puppets and objects. With this company she has created different shows, both in Spain and abroad. Highlights include El vol de Calàndria (Award for Best Visual Theatre Project 2008 from the Institut del Teatre) and Las hadas de la Bella Durmiente, which received several national awards, among them the Award for Best Puppet and Object Show at FETEN 2011. She has also been part of the company L’Abric, whose show of the same name received the Award for Best Puppet Show at the Fira de Lleida 2006. She has also worked on puppet television programmes (Los Algos, Tele5 and L’Hora del Conte, IB3).
In Mallorca she has dedicated a large part of her life to bringing the world of theatre and objects closer to children through the programme Viu la Cultura of the Balearic Islands. She has taught Dance applied to Dramatic Art at the Higher School of Dramatic Art of the Balearic Islands (ESADIB). She has also been part of the team of hospital clowns of Sonrisa Médica, a pioneering hospital clown association in Spain. She currently dedicates herself mainly to teaching.
MARÍA JESÚS LÓPEZ
DRAMA


Born in Madrid, she began her musical studies at the Jesús de Monasterio Professional Conservatory in Santander with Marta Gamaza and Francisco San Emeterio. She later moved to Oviedo to continue her higher studies with the pianist Francisco Jaime Pantín and the repertoire player Yolanda Vidal at the CONSMUPA (Conservatorio Superior de Música de Oviedo).
With a scholarship from the Ministry of Education and the Botín Foundation, she has been able to complete her musical studies with different international musicians such as Miguel Ángel Ortega Chavaldas, David Kuyken, Kennedy Moreti, Olga Semushina, Chang Rok Moon, Teresa Pérez Hernández, Hermann Mrongovius, Elza Kolodin, Robert Hatten, Imre Rohmann, Keith Terry, Eric Wen...
She currently combines her role as a repertoire accompanist with her project Songs of Birdland, a record label which, together with the composer Rubio Faviere, brings classical music and jazz to the youngest members of the family.


ALMUDENA DÍEZ
REPERTOIRE PIANIST
Bárbara González Garrido was born in Ávila in 1988 and is currently a cello teacher in Palma de Mallorca. She studied music with Ángel García Jermann, Mark Peters, and Miguel Jiménez. Later, she began studying the Suzuki Method with Arantza López and Eulàlia Subirà, although she has also received advice and inspiration from Carey Hockett, Ruben Rivera, Anja Maja, and Christine Livingston, among others.
In 2016, she founded her cello ensemble called "Cellebrities". Teaching and learning are her passion. He continues to learn and develop new methodologies to teach the instrument that has become the centre of his life: the cello.
BÁRBARA GONZÁLEZ

Glòria Rodoreda Meilán teaches cello and chamber music at the Professional Conservatory of Lleida, and at the Pons Roselló Music School in the same city as a Suzuki Method cello teacher.
She studied cello in Barcelona with Eulàlia Nosàs and Pere Busquets, and in Utrecht (Holland) with Elías Arizcuren and Lenian Benjamin.
After having lived the enriching Suzuki experience with her daughter since she was 3 years old, she decided to start the Suzuki training for teachers with Eulàlia Subirà and Arantza López at the end of 2014 until completing level 4. Training that she has had the fortune to complete with teachers such as Anja Maya, Carey Beth Hockett, Chantal Latil, Tessa Oakley, Ruben Ribera, Christine Livingstone among others. She has been refreshing her training by assiduously attending different Suzuki courses.
This training, together with the one she already had, has given her a deep, robust, and comprehensive understanding of the teaching of the cello and music in general; where respect for the student and his or her pace of learning, together with the joy of doing it, are both the motivating path that leads them to enjoy learning and teaching.
GLÒRIA RODOREDA

Based in Madrid, she studied cello at the Jesús de Monasterio Conservatory in Santander with Marina Kolesnikova and at the Conservatorio Superior de Oviedo with Viguen Sarkissov. She also attended masterclasses in cello and chamber music with renowned musicians such as Asier Polo, Amit Peled, Mikael Samsonov, Natalia Shakoskaya, Álvaro Huertas, Miguel Jiménez, Paulo Gaio Lima, Kenedy Moretti, Richard Aaron, Imre Rohmann, Marta Gulya, and Vera Martínez Mehner, among others.
Her passion for pedagogy and continuous learning led her to begin her Suzuki Method teacher training in 2014 with Arantza López and Eulàlia Subirà. She has also enriched her education by studying with Carey Beth Hockett, Anja Maja, Chantal Latil, Tessa Oakley, and Rubén Rivera. In 2020, she completed level 5, gaining a deeply transformed vision of teaching.
She has been invited to teach in Barcelona, Madrid (VII Curso Nacional Suzuki), Valencia (Volestiu Summer Courses), Jaén, the National Suzuki Workshop organized by the BSMA, Cellofest (United Kingdom), Santander, Alicante, and the Kortjake Summer Course in France.
Committed to the holistic development of her students, her teaching is based on values such as respect, cooperation, and camaraderie.
Her personal project, www.cellolabstudio.com, is a blog where she regularly publishes content to bring the Suzuki Method closer to families and educators.


LUCÍA DÍEZ
VIOLONCELLO | STAFF
He is a PhD candidate in Education, holds a Master’s degree in Psychopedagogy, and a Bachelor’s degree in Primary Education, with specializations in Music, English, Hearing and Language, and Therapeutic Pedagogy. He complements his training as a Spanish Sign Language communicator, is a graduate in Classical Dance, and holds an accredited C1 level of English.
He has an extensive professional career as a school teacher and university professor, which has allowed him to combine educational practice with research and higher education teaching. In addition, he collaborates as a trainer at the Center for Training in Educational Innovation of Castilla y León, delivering training in educational innovation, inclusion, emotional education, and emotional intelligence.
He is the author of numerous indexed publications in Q1 journals and has participated in congresses and symposia at both national and international levels. In 2021, he was recognized with the national award “Juntos hacemos vida” for his work and research in the field of inclusion.
